In August 2021, a somber chapter unfolded when the Taliban seized control of Kabul.
The aftermath saw a harrowing sequence of events, with individuals who championed justice - prosecutors, judges, defense lawyers, investigators, and human rights attorneys - thrust into a perilous struggle against persecution, abduction, arrests, torture, and even execution.
A chilling narrative unfolded, particularly for the women who defied societal norms, steadfastly embracing their roles as prosecutors, defenders, investigators, and judges. Caught in the crosshairs were those who challenged gender stereotypes, valiantly fighting for their right to education and employment. The Taliban's proclamation of non-reprisal proved hollow, as a shadow of fear enveloped those who once stood for justice. Their words encouraged a collective stand against a broad spectrum of crimes - terrorism, violence against women, and deep-seated corruption. It was a grim reminder that conviction can be easily swayed by darkness.
In the face of this grim reality, we are happy to be able to add our small contribution - a new design and website, a platform to amplify a crucial cause.
